LCAP Goal #1. Anderson Union High School District students will be college or career ready upon graduation.
Attendance
AUHS enrollment is currently 560 students. Attendance Next week we be starting a grade level competition for the best attendance. Each week we will announce the grade level that has the highest daily attendance rate for the previous week and all students in the winning grade level will be released five minutes early for lunch.

The AUHS Counselors are currently attending and hosting SART/IEP/504/Enrollment meetings, and meeting with students on the D/F/I list to develop a strategy to get grades up to passing before the end of the semester. Counselors are also helping Seniors with College and Scholarship Applications.
FFA News
Rebecca Roberts received her American FFA Degree, students also attended various workshops and leadership development sessions
Students Built and Acted in this years "Butcher Shop" room at the Redding Rotary Haunted House, in the comming weeks cash prizes and awards will be announced for best rooms!
Tonight students will attend the October Chapter Meeting and compete in a Halloween Cookie Decorating Contest
PRIME Time Assembly
On Friday 10/25/24, AUHS recognized Student of the Month for Academics, Citizenship, and Extra-Curricular performances. We also recognized students for outstanding Attendance and no tardies for the month.

English Language Development
Mr. Jason Pasero will be holding the ELAC meeting with students, parents and staff next week on Wednesday November 6th. Mr. Ed Grant, who is this year's ELPAC test examiner, completed his training early in the year so he could assess all of our incoming lanuage learners. All current EL student have taken their Initial ELPAC Assessment and parents have been notified of their child taking the ELPAC.
Simpson University
Principal Safford attended the Simpson University Advisory Board Breakfast along with 30+ other Shasta County administrators to provide input to the Dean of Education about the Simpson University's Teacher Credential and Master of Arts degree programs, as well as areas that we could help support one another.
Halloween Fun
Both students and staff had fun this week dressing up in school appropriate costumes for Halloween.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
Student Store Update
All of the furnature has arrived and the slatwall has been installed. Once the flooring company receives the flooring we can set a date for them to demo and install the flooring. After flooring is installed the furniture will be moved in and apparel will be displayed for the Grand Re-opening.
Cub Connection has been busy training the new site facilitator for the West Valley Eagle Vision afterschool program and getting them set up for success. They will be opening on November 1st. We are happy to announce the addition of a new site liaison Mr. David Weber. David joined us on Wednesday October 30th and it’s great to have an additional staff member.
Leadership is optimistic that they will place in the top three for the Redding Haunted House. The top three winners are awarded cash prizes up to $3,000. The students had a lot of fun designing, building, and especially acting in the Haunted Hotel. Leadership also enjoyed supporting our volleyball team, football team, cheerleading squad, and band in their recent senior nights. Students made posters for each group and decorated the stands. For Red Ribbon Week, leadership hosted a door decorating contest among first period classes. First place will be awarded to Mrs. Kline’s class. We also sold Boo Grahams to pass out on Halloween. We have also voted on our Key Club leaders and are working on our first Key Club event. Christian Smith is our Key Club president and he is optimistic about leading his peers in community service opportunities.
Tennis Champ
AUHS Senior, Madison Stewart, is waiting for her seed in the section playoffs this Saturday. Good luck Maddie!
Girls Golf
Freshman Logan Ceniceros qualified for the NSCIF Championship at Riverview on 11/4, by shooting a score of 50 on the front nine at Tierra Oaks at the NAL Finals.
Senior Night
Our Band, Cheer, and Football Seniors were celebrated at our last regular contest home football game this past Friday.
