Each will excel, achieving College, Career and Life readiness!
September 3, 2025
LCAP Goal #1. Anderson Union High School District students will be college or career ready upon graduation.
Student Counts
AUHS has been adding new students slowly over the past few weeks with a current enrollment of 515 students. The average Attendance rate over the past four weeks is 94% which we hope to see rise to 96%. Tardies have started out lower this year when compared to last year. Our teachers and administrative team have been focusing on the importance of great attendance and being prompt for student success now and in their future.
Student Body
Our Cubs are a pleasant group of students this year with fewer negative behaviors and many more 9th grade students than our projected number indicated. Student council has been voted in and they are now active and holding council under the leadership of Mrs. Wonder.
Leadership hosted Senior Sunrise on Friday, August 22nd. We had a wonderful turnout and FFA cooked breakfast. The seniors had a lot of fun and are looking forward to this last year of high school.
Leadership is also prepping for the Welcome Back Rally this Friday, September 5th.
Counselors are finalizing schedule change requests, reviewing transcripts, and meeting with students to sign up for Anderson Adult School to make up credits.
Cub Connection is looking forward to another amazing year. We are bringing back our B.O.S.S. team (board of student services) this is leadership for Cub Connection. These students will help plan and impliment activities and events for the after school program. We will also be starting our PODs in September with Math Tutoring, Photo-journalism, Robotics, Weight Training, Credit Recovery, and Skate Club.
LCAP Goal #2. Anderson Union High School District will provide a safe, orderly, and responsive learning environment for all students.
HVAC
The 200 wing HVAC system is still waiting for parts and may be completed in two weeks. This will be so nice for our teachers to no longer need to rely on portable AC units or to be teaching out of temporary classrooms.
Collaboration
AUHS held its first Collaboration Meeting of the year on Wednesday August 27th. Department goals, Essential Standards, and meeting expectations were discussed at this first meeting. The next collaboration meeting will be held on September 10th for PLC teams to engage in their first cycle of inquiry for the 2025-2026 school year.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
Parent Involvement
The AUHS Parent Advisory and Community Engagement committee met for the first time this school year with the best parent turn out they have had in a long time. There were many productive conversations and commitments made by parents in attendance.
Trap Shooting Team
The AUHS Trap Shooting Team, led by Steve McLuckie, has held a meeting and currently taking sign-ups for this years team.
FALL SPORTS ARE UNDERWAY!
Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Swim, Cross Country, Girls Tennis, and Girls Golf.
Volleyball has had many competitions and Football has played one away game at Etna for the win and they will have their first home game on Friday 9/5/25 vs. Live Oak.
