LCAP Goal #1. Anderson Union High School District students will be college or career ready upon graduation.
Attendance & Tardy Sweep
AUHS enrollment is currently 562 students. We have had a good week of attendance with a daily average of 96.8% as of Thursday morning.
ASVAB
The ASVAB test date was held on Wed. October 2, 2024 during 1st – 4th period, in the AUHS Library. The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a standardized test that helps identify a person's strengths and aptitude in various areas. It's used to determine eligibility for enlistment in the U.S. military and to help find the best job for a person in the military.
PRIME Time
We started a new two-week session of PRIME Time this week with all core subjects and some elective subjects offering additional help for students. Our enrichment courses for PRIME Time are Homecoming float design, Wrestling development, Disc golf, Photography, Board/Card games and Volleyball.
Collaboration/PLC
Last week PLC Teams started getting close to having their CA Standards "Unpacked" with "Essential Standards" established.
Bob Reid Stadium
The AUHS maintenance team and Mr. Whitmore's Landscape Managment class have been preping and painting the football field for our Homecoming. There will be a cubs paw in the center while the end zones will say CUBS. Students were instructed on how to lay out the stencils and even did a lot of the painting.
LCAP Goal #2. Anderson Union High School District will provide a safe, orderly, and responsive learning environment for all students.
Student Store
Maintenance was busy early this week painting the student store, getting there part done before we have a local flooring company install laminate flooring, and then vinyl window coverings, followed by maintenance coming back in to install slat-wall and furniture. The original goal was to have a remodeled student store before the new year, but now it looks like it may be done before November.
Random Drug Testing
On Tuesday 10/1 we randomly tested 30 of our athletes. We did have 2 students that tested positive for nicotine and 1 that tested positive for THC. These students are given the option of: Participating in assistance programs and taking a weekly drug test for six weeks (at the student's cost) OR, Be suspended from all sports, practices, and athletic activities for the remainder of the current season or 30 school and /or practice days (excluding summer school), which ever is longer. The student will be retested before beginning the next season for which he/she is eligible. If the retest is positive it will be a second offense.
Counseling
The AUHS counselors are working on their presentation and materials for our Senior Parent Information Night on October 9th. They are going through the college application process with students who are applying to four year universities. Counselors are also working with Heather Israel and the Tech dept. so students records are in line with the latest requirements before uploading them to Webgrants.
LCAP Goal #3. AUHS will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents, guardians and community members in the ongoing development of district programs and services.
Cubbie
The PACE committee and Boosters went in 50/50 to purchase a new Cubbie mascot. Here is a picture of the new Cubbie uniform as is before it is adorned with Cub apparel. Cubbie came just in time for Homecoming.
Cub Connection
This week Cub Connection will be working on their homecoming float on Friday. Our POD offerings for October continue with Credit Recovery on Monday and Thursday, Robotics every day, Coach Harris workouts Mon-Thurs along with Mr Long and his Basketball POD.

Homecoming
As with all Homecoming weeks it is important to have fun and stimulate school pride and school spirit. Mrs. Wonder and our Leadership Students have been busy with lunchtime activities in the quad and pumping up dress-up participation on social media. Our teachers have been participating as well. Besides Spirit (dress-up) days and lunchtime activities, students are running for their class Royalty and the winners will be announced at the Rally on Friday and at the football game.
