Regardless of whether students engage in learning within the classroom or in outdoor settings, Ms. Benetatos diligently strives to inspire them to participate in physical activities and monitor their progress through a daily journal. Students are afforded the opportunity to embark on local excursions to a nearby pond, where they can breathe in fresh air and appreciate the beauty of nature. Additionally, Ms. Benetatos has been actively involved in fitness assessments, requiring students to complete 'the gauntlet' as part of their evaluation. Students also have the opportunity to explore various activities such as archery, dancing, basketball, aerobics, and yoga. Among these, flag football on the grass field stands out as a particularly popular choice, providing an excellent cardiovascular workout while allowing students to enjoy the outdoors.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
Mr. Lewis and the ANTHS Horticulture class visited Whiskeytown National Recreation Area as part of their capstone project. Students are developing informational brochures and pamphlets focused on various native plant species in the region. During the excursion, they engaged with Ranger Kendall Kane, who assisted them in enhancing their knowledge of plant identification, ecology, and requirements. Additionally, students were supported in locating and photographing the native plants pertinent to their research. The Horticulture class is scheduled to return to Whiskeytown on Friday, May 16th, for a tour of the Whiskeytown orchards, where they will explore both traditional and contemporary applications of native plants.
Mrs. Hernandez and her team of students have been hard at work organizing our senior prom. The theme is "Pearlescent". It will be held at the Frontier Senior Center on May 10th.
