At New Tech, we place high priority on preparing our students for a successful future. Our student learning outcomes focus on the soft skills that leaders in the private and public sectors are looking for: problem-solving, effective communication, self-direction, adaptability, and work ethic. To accomplish this, along with the traditional courses of study (math, science, English, social sciences, etc.), the teaching, modeling, and assessing of these essential soft skills are incorporated into course content.
The Senior Spotlight gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their competence and communication skills through a formal exit interview, conducted by a panel of alumni, local business professionals, staff and teachers. The questions for the interview are purposely designed to allow students the opportunity to reflect upon and share their growth, strengths, successes, passions, challenges, and finally, to articulate why they are ready and prepared for life after high school. While not a requirement to graduate with a New Tech diploma, it is a requirement to participate in graduation ceremonies.
WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
Since 2010, ANTHS and Anderson Middle School have engaged in a collaborative effort to enhance the mentoring program. Mrs. Hernandez assists New Tech students in grades 10 through 12 in their preparation to become mentors for AMS students in grades 7 and 8. Typically, the program accommodates between twelve to twenty AMS students annually. Each mentoring session lasts for ninety minutes and occurs weekly.
Through various games and activities, participants address challenging issues faced by youth.
Once again, ANTHS students attended the Whiskeytown Trail Clean Up with Mr. Lewis, and helped to clear the Brandy Creek Falls Trail all the way until the lower falls, removing the impacts of fallen trees, erosion, and human interference.
Students from ANTHS will go to Whiskeytown again on May 10th to help clean the trails for one last time this school year.

The Anderson Union High School Theatre Department is putting on the musical "Mamma Mia" May 1st through May 3rd at the Performing Arts Center. This story follows the quest of a young woman to find her father, mere days before her wedding. This is all set on a Greek island paradise and features the songs of ABBA.
Joseph Hostettler, a sophomore at New Tech, is featured in the main cast as the character Bill Austin. Another New Tech student, sophomore Teagan Bartel, is also in the production.

Lorelei has proven to be an exceptional asset to our school community. Her collaborative nature and readiness to assist others are truly commendable. She possesses a genuinely kind disposition. This year, she has embarked on her journey as a mentor and has discovered both her passion for and aptitude in this role.
At the start of the academic year, she expressed a desire to engage more deeply and participate in the various enriching trips and activities we offer. Her involvement in school events is noteworthy, as she has attended nearly all of our monthly activities this year.
At our staff meetings, the previous month's staff member of the month chooses the next month's recipient. From our March winner, Sara LaFreniere:
I wanted to choose someone who is "One of a Kind":
With a Great Personality, hard-working and dedicated, was NOT hard to find
Someone who can run circles around most
With so much Energy and a great Host
Someone who is up & down - from call to call
You might even “hear” her before you see her - coming down the hall
Someone who is "AMAZING" and would fit the bill -
That someone is Ms Jill -
She takes the "C" out of CAN'T –
this month ~ She's your "ANT"
