ANTHS LCAP Goals & WASC Action Plan Goals

LCAP Goal 1: Over the course of four years, all students will be able to demonstrate mastery of the essential “soft skills” that business, college and university leaders seek, as they progress towards graduation while having completed an A-G course of study and/or an identified CTE pathway.WASC Action Plan Goal: Continue to adapt curriculum, assessments, and resources to the new hybrid model.

Students must demonstrate communication, work ethic and critical thinking as those are components of their grades.
Students practice those skills every time they are in a group project, learning to work with peers (that were not friends), produce an item (not of their choosing) and reflect on the outcome and ways to improve in the future.
Students can get "fired" from their group, with teacher consultation, for not meeting the terms of the group agreements. Next, the student finishes and presents the group project on their own.

Math & Spanish Dept. Updates:"Spanish classes are going to be ending the semester with presentations. Spanish 1 will be introducing 3-5 members of their family and telling us about them. In Spanish 2, menus are created for their "restaurants" that reside in different Spanish speaking countries. In their presentations they tell us the history of their restaurant and include cultural aspects about their country.

Math classes are wrapping up the semester by taking the NWEA for the second time this year. They are also reviewing concepts that they have been working on this semester and getting ready for the semester final exams."

LCAP Goal 2: New Tech will provide a safe learning environment to work with students in order to meet their mental, emotional, and physical health while maintaining our high academic standards with a focus on future success.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.

All students, new and returning have their PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) to help navigate the school and their path within, connecting to counselor, Echo help, or anything they need to be more future ready.

Ms. Benetatos' 8th, 9th & 10th grade homeschool students work independently and come to campus at least twice a week for added support.

LCAP Goal 3: New Tech will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents and community members.WASC Action Plan Goal: Strengthen parental connections and offer more opportunities for connections on campus.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Find, develop and cultivate relationships with community members and alumni; create opportunities for them to be regularly involved on campus.

PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) Meetings with parent(s), student and teachers continue as we enter the end of 2nd quarter.
- Priority PLT Meetings were initially scheduled 2nd trimester with seniors of at risk of failing core classes, then with all other students at risk of failing multiple classes and the remainder, as time permitted.
We continue to work on how to create an internship opportunity/plan for students interested in forestry, natural resources or maybe more.
