Alex Pollan, a senior, consistently demonstrates remarkable dedication and perseverance. He is enrolled in two ROP programs: Advanced Fire and Emergency Medical Technician, all while upholding a commendable academic performance.
At New Tech, students must fulfill the BIG 3 requirements, which include completing community service hours, participating in an ROP program or internship, and earning college units. Alex has successfully met two of these requirements and is actively working towards completing the necessary 40 hours of community service.
WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
All students, new and returning have their PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) to help navigate the school and their path within, connecting to counselor, Echo help, or anything they need to be more future ready.
New student meetings continue with parent(s) and student with teacher, counselor and principal - accountability, success plan in becoming future ready is established.
Students enjoyed the field trip on Friday, January 17th, to the Siskiyou Ice Rink at Mt. Shasta w/ Mrs. Hernandez, Mrs. Boydstun, Ms. Benetatos & Mr. Lewis. There was ice skating, snowman building, laughter and fun times!
Jill McWilliams, along with student ambassadors, have been busy traveling to different schools in Shasta County this month and into February. Mrs. McWilliams has seen a lot of positive response to the presentations! Our presentation slideshow can be seen using this link.
We are pleased to announce upcoming information sessions for parents, guardians, and students on February 6th and February 27th. These evenings will feature presentations about New Tech, a forum for questions directed to a panel of students, and introductions to our faculty and staff members.
