LCAP Goal 1: Over the course of four years, all students will be able to demonstrate mastery of the essential “soft skills” that business, college and university leaders seek, as they progress towards graduation while having completed an A-G course of study and/or an identified CTE pathway.WASC Action Plan Goal: Continue to adapt curriculum, assessments, and resources to the new hybrid model.
Students must demonstrate communication, work ethic, collaboration and critical thinking as those are components of their grades.
Students are showcasing their learning of their skills for finals. There are presentations occurring in English, social science as well as science classes.
Students can get "fired" from their group, with teacher consultation, for not meeting the terms of the group agreements. Next, the student finishes and presents the group project on their own.
New Tech 101New Tech 101 is a course that all new students take when they start at New Tech. Students learn in more detail soft skills and ownership and accountability with their grades. An introduction to community service happens within the class as well as getting set up to take concurrent enrollment classes with Shasta College. "Students have been learning the different steps and skills involved with creating and giving a presentation. This week, those students, in teams, gave presentations on a career field, after having researched specific jobs in the career field, job requirements, job benefits, and opinions of fellow students on these careers. Over the course of the project, students learned how to manage their time, outline slide presentations, conduct research (both in-person and online), request information via email, and take constructive feedback on presentations."

LCAP Goal 2: New Tech will provide a safe learning environment to work with students in order to meet their mental, emotional, and physical health while maintaining our high academic standards with a focus on future success.
WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
All students, new and returning have their PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) to help navigate the school and their path within, connecting to counselor, Echo help, or anything they need to be more future ready.

LCAP Goal 3: New Tech will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents and community members. Priority PLT Meetings were initially scheduled 2nd trimester with seniors of at risk of failing core classes, then with all other students at risk of failing multiple classes and the remainder, as time permitted.WASC Action Plan Goal: Strengthen parental connections and offer more opportunities for connections on campus. Several parents are slated to chaperone at Friday's dance.
WASC Action Plan Goal: Find, develop and cultivate relationships with community members and alumni; create opportunities for them to be regularly involved on campus. Many alumni came back for blanket making.
New Tech students, Ariek (aka "The Grinch") and Flynn, volunteered at the Anderson Library for their December 5th Storytime. Children listened to stories and received new pajamas. The Grinch's heart grew three sizes that day!

20 Years of BlanketsMrs. Hernandez organized and managed our 20th Annual Blanket Making Day at New Tech on December 9, 2024. Thanks to the generous donations from various individuals and local businesses - Lance Corporation, Nor Cal Youth & Services, and TLC Kettle Corn, students were able to make 71 new fleece blankets for foster children!

Students raised over $600 this year! Funds were used to support blanket making.

Sophomores earned a pizza party next Tuesday during lunch!
Anderson New Technology High School served as a donation drop-off location. Thank you to everyone that donated a winter coat!
Christmas Tree Drive Volunteering
On December 14th, ten students and two staff members are scheduled to volunteer at a Christmas Tree Giveaway put on by Community Alliance Network & Rotary Club of Redding. Their goal is to make sure children wake up on Christmas morning to a fully decorated tree and toys, generously donated by the Salvation Army's Stuff the Bus Drive.

Along with jumping right into a leading role in New Tech's homeschool program, Ms. Benetatos also worked incredibly hard to create and teach both Physical Education and Leadership classes.
Almost immediately upon entering New Tech, her willingness to learn, to lead, and to be part of the school culture was apparent. Ms. Benetatos' perseverance, kindness, and genuine care for the students has set her apart.
We appreciate all her hard work for our school!
