Students in Human Anatomy dissected rats. The focus of the lab was to have students observe the organs of the digestive system, and to give students an introduction into organ systems we will be discussing in upcoming lessons, such as the urinary system and cardiovascular system.
Through dissections like this, students learn the importance of following directions along with precision and detailed observation.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
All students, new and returning have their PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) to help navigate the school and their path within, connecting to counselor, Echo help, or anything they need to be more future ready.
New student meetings continue with parent(s) and student with teacher, counselor and principal - accountability, success plan in becoming future ready is established.
Spanish II just wrapped up their individual presentations on a Hispanic Artist that they chose. The presentations were meant to be a brief introduction into the artists' life and then a showcase of 5-10 of their most famous works. The student presentations were wonderful and all in Spanish.
The second part of this project is a favorite of the students. One of the pieces of artwork that they showcased is secretly chosen. Then they cut up the photo of the art into pieces. Each student paints their section onto a big piece of cardstock. When finished, students put all their pieces together and the final image gets displayed in the lobby of the school for a year.
Pictured here is the art piece from last year.
