Our class has collaboratively created an original one-act play titled “The Slumber Party Mystery.” We have commenced the process of blocking and rehearsing, dedicating time after school once a week and during our drama class on Wednesdays. The students are enthusiastic about presenting this performance at the Evening of the Arts on May 15th. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy this remarkable play.

New Tech meets the "F" (A-G) requirement with many fine arts as well as performing arts options, like drama.
WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.
Twenty five students, along with Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Hernandez & Mrs. Boydstun, took part in a weekend camping field trip to Wolf Creek Redwoods National Park, March 7th - 9th. We were excited to see several of our "new" students in attendance on the trip. They enrolled after the 1st quarter.
"Wolf Creek Outdoor School Camping Trip. One of the best trips we have ever done! It started off with a 3 hour tour and lunch at Cal Poly Humboldt. We left that tour with students saying that they could see themselves as a student there.
Then we headed to Wolf Creek. What a wonderful place this is! Cabins, a lodge with so many amenities and supplies, a covered pavilion, and a great campfire w/seating; All right in the middle of the redwood forest. This was all free to our group. Cannot say enough good things about this place.
Our outings for this trip included--a trip to the Sequoia Park Zoo, a walk on the Skywalk at the Sequoia Park, some time exploring downtown Arcata, beach time at the southernmost Redwood National and State Park Visitor center, the Lady Bird Johnson Grove Hike, and a night hike at Wolf Creek."

A new club focused on Magic the Gathering has been established, convening every Wednesday after school in the Fishbowl. The club is led by Ms. Benetatos and alumni Malcolm Longwell, class of 2016. The inaugural meeting included a guest, Brent Perry, a New Tech parent and alumni from North Valley, class of 2005.
Makayla has fully embraced the culture at Anderson New Tech. She has emerged as a valuable member of our school community. In addition to her involvement in New Tech Leadership, she serves as a mentor in our Friday Night Live program with Anderson Middle School. Her academic performance is exceptional, and she is enthusiastic about her plans to attend a four-year university following her graduation. We are happy to name her our March student of the month.
Sarah has recently become a member of the New Tech team, taking on the role of our custodian. She has quickly demonstrated her value by efficiently reorganizing multiple storage areas across the campus. Right from the beginning, Sarah has been a friendly and inviting colleague.
We are excited to have her as part of the New Tech family!
