ANTHS LCAP Goals & WASC Action Plan Goals

LCAP Goal 1: Over the course of four years, all students will be able to demonstrate mastery of the essential “soft skills” that business, college and university leaders seek, as they progress towards graduation while having completed an A-G course of study and/or an identified CTE pathway.WASC Action Plan Goal: Continue to adapt curriculum, assessments, and resources to the new hybrid model.

"Each of the students pick a political current event that they find interesting to share with the class and lead a discussion on. We talked through how to determine the credibility of news sources and how to ask questions that spur discussion (open ended). August did a great job and their questions were very engaging. The class had a real rich discussion. Their topic was on Education levels across all the states and how states tend to vote per party affiliation." - Mr. Petersen

Students must demonstrate communication, collaboration and critical thinking as those are the components of their grades.
Students practice those skills every time they are in a group project, learning to work with peers (that were not friends), produce an item (not of their choosing) and reflect on the outcome and ways to improve in the future.
Students can get "fired" from their group, with teacher consultation, for not meeting the terms of the group agreements. Next, the student finishes and presents the group project on their own.

LCAP Goal 2: New Tech will provide a safe learning environment to work with students in order to meet their mental, emotional, and physical health while maintaining our high academic standards with a focus on future success.Lab/intervention time for math, English and general academic success began 10/26. Students meet with the teacher for an additional scheduled hour per week to ensure they have adequate opportunity to ask questions and seek additional support.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Create a systemic plan to integrate new, mid-year and homeschooling students into our school culture and retain them over the course of 4 or 5 years.

Mr. Lewis' Horticulture class participates in a field trip to the Turtle Bay gardens on 10/25. The knowledge acquired is being integrated into a landscape and garden design project undertaken by the students.

We have invited our independent study students to participate in our monthly events, school events as well as clubs. Often that connection is what will bring them back and encourage them to shift to our hybrid program.
All of our new students have been assigned a mentor student to be their "peer person" to show them around, answer questions and help with tech issues. This has helped all students feel more welcome.
All students, new and returning have their PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) to help navigate the school and their path within, connecting to counselor, Echo help, or anything they need to be more future ready.

LCAP Goal 3: New Tech will develop and maintain a systematic method for partnering with parents and community members.WASC Action Plan Goal: Strengthen parental connections and offer more opportunities for connections on campus.

WASC Action Plan Goal: Find, develop and cultivate relationships with community members and alumni; create opportunities for them to be regularly involved on campus.

Former NT teacher, Mr. Lockett, volunteers in Mrs. Boydstun's classroom to give a camera tutorial.

PLT (Personalized Learning Teacher) Meetings with parent(s), student and teacher continue to develop meaningful opportunities for quarterly connections on campus.
We have been connected with Sierra Pacific Industries and are working on how to create an internship opportunity/plan for students interested in forestry, natural resources or maybe more. We have a field trip planned to tour SPI next month with Mr. Lewis.
