PTSA

Parent Teacher Student Association

There are many people who play a vital role in the success of Augusta Independent School. These people work diligently on a daily basis to positively impact our students and help change their lives. The faculty, staff and administration with the support of the Augusta Board of Education, nurture, lead and teach our students. They play an integral part in helping these students master content, set and achieve goals, realize dreams and most importantly prepare them for a successful life after graduation from Augusta Independent School.

Another important group that contributes greatly to the success of our students and school is our Parent Teacher Student Association. The PTSA does most of their work behind the scenes, but that doesn’t mean that they are not vital to our school. The PTSA is responsible for the Fall Festival each year, as well as conducting several other raffles and fund raisers. All of the money they make is returned to the school and the students. Some of the things the PTSA provides are: funding for faculty / staff appreciation week and all of our testing incentives, numerous scholarships each year to our graduates, extra monies in our classroom funds, organizing and running the Santa Gift Shop at Christmas time, and donating funds to help provide our students with the best available programs that will ensure they are able to master their learning targets.

The PTSA is open to all parents, students, faculty and staff. The cost to join is $5.00 and that pays your membership for one calendar year. They meet once a month, but these meeting are not mandatory. If you are interested in joining, please contact Tina Sticklen at 756-2545. This is a great way to be involved in Augusta Independent School and your child’s future.
