I am Ms. Woodson, your Civics/Economics teacher. This is both my second year teaching and my second year at BMMS. I graduated from Radford University and relocated to Staunton. I am obsessed with my dogs and admit that I am a complete movie nerd. I love to joke around and always bring my sense of humor into the classroom. I also adore my family, which consists of my 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren! Add to that, my obsession with the Pittsburgh Steelers and my love to read on the beach, and you pretty well know me!

Hello! I am one of the three 8th grade Math teachers. This will be my 9th year of teaching, my 2nd at BMMS, and my 1st year in 8th grade Math! I have previously taught 6th and 7th grade Math, and 7th grade English.

I recently became a dog mom to an adorable Mini Australian Shepherd named Teddy. I enjoy taking rides with my husband on his motorcycle, hiking our beautiful Shenandoah Valley, and cooking/baking good-for-the soul foods.

Hello! I'm Mrs. Rhodes, your Reading teacher. I am in my second year teaching, my first at BMMS. I'm originally from Kansas, but I've been in Virginia so long, I consider myself a native! I have three children, am a retired Navy veteran, and my husband is a helicopter pilot in the Navy Reserve! I graduated from Old Dominion University and earned my graduate degree at Mary Baldwin. I'm super excited to be a part of the team and am looking forward to all this school year has in store for us!

My room is a place where all readers who give EFFORT can find SUCCESS!! We are ready to begin the 2020-2021 school year. It is a time that we evaluate our reading habits and make changes in our reading behavior so that we can be more successful.

I've been teaching 33 years and this is my 28th year of teaching at BMMS. I started teaching 4th grade in Waynesboro, moved here as a sixth grade Language Arts teacher for 12 years, taught sixth grade math for three years, and then Reading Interventions for the last 12 years. This year I will be one of three 8th grade Reading teachers so my classes have students from both 8th grade teams.

My husband, Abbott, and I live in West Augusta. Our son, Clay, who lives in Blacksburg, is a senior at VT majoring in Applied Agricultural Economics. Our daughter, Laurel, is a junior at BGHS and is involved with cheerleading, FFA, and softball. We have several hunting dogs, but none as special as Harvest, Gus, and 3 cats. We enjoy the mountains, snow skiing, and everything football!

Hello! I’m the science teacher for the Surfers team. I have three children of my own, and they attend Augusta County schools as well. I enjoy science, outside activities (biking, hiking, and fishing), music and sports. I look forward to being your teacher this year.

Hello! This is my third year at BMMS and I am excited to be working with 8th graders. I will Co-teach in Civics and have resource and learning labs this year. I have taught for over 25 years in elementary and middle schools. I am from Texas and my son, daughter, son-in-law and new grandson, Hudson, still live in the Dallas area. My parents and brother’s family live in Fort Worth, TX. I have a puppy, Murphy, who is 1 year old.

I love to travel, but this year has been a challenge.

I am ready for this wild ride with the Surfers!
