The RMS after school choir is offered to students who wish to participate in choir at RMS, but are not currently enrolled in the choir class at RMS. This is a non-auditioned choir; students with little choir experience are welcome to join. The after school choir meets on Thursday from directly after school until 5:00 pm in the music room at RMS. All choir members participating in the after school choir are required to arrange transportation to pick them up from RMS at 5:00. Students will be expected to attend every after school rehearsal and the Riverheads Winter Concert (please see the schedule below for all of the pertinent dates.) If you’re interested in joining, please read the choir expectations, Fall schedule, and return the signed parent/student contract to Mr Blackburn.

Expectations

Be Respectful - Of yourself, others, the teacher, and music.

Actively participate - A Choir is a team that can only function properly if all members are present and participating. As a participant, you are expected to sing in weekly rehearsals and at concerts.

Folders & Music - Each student will be issued a folder for use over the course of the year. It is expected that each student will return all music in the same condition in which it was issued. Be sure all marks are in pencil so they may be erased. Do not mark in music with a pen or highlighter.

Concert Attire - For the concert, students are asked to wear all black attire (black shoes, pants, and shirt.) If you have any questions, then please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr Blackburn for more information.
