Albertina N. Shifotoka
Director and Instructor
Albertina is the Site Director for the Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE) for Southern Africa (Namibia). She provides leadership to the faculty and staff at the Southern Africa campus and ensures the implementation of the Augsburg University policies at this campus. Albertina is the instructor for the course “Racism and Resistance in Southern Africa and the United States – Struggles against Colonialism, Apartheid and Segregation.” She is delighted for an opportunity to join the CGEE team and looking forward to offering an unforgettable global experience to all our students, staff and faculty that will get a chance to visit the Namibian campus.
Albertina holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Change Management from the Namibia University of Science and Technology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Development studies, majoring in population studies, poverty and social policies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, The Netherlands. She is further certified in Econometrics and on Strategic Project Management. Albertina’s undergraduate degree is in Education, with a major in adult and non-formal education from the University of Namibia. Albertina worked for the University of Namibia as a researcher for eight years. During this time, Albertina conducted research studies in various areas such as Community Based Natural Resource Management, urban poverty and service delivery, awareness on climate change, migration and poverty, political development in Southern Africa, gender-based violence and contributory factors to road crashes in Namibia, among many others.
In 2009, Albertina worked for the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund of Namibia as a senior research and data officer, responsible for coordinating the Fund’s research projects and managing organizational information.
Pinias Kashedi
Program Coordinator and Instructor
Pinias recently completed a Master’s of Philosophy in Education and Training for Lifelong Learning from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He further holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Education from the University of Namibia.
Pinias worked for the Namibian Government in Voter Education as well as leading Adult and Continuing Education programs at the district level. For the past six (6) years he worked for the US Embassy as the Cultural Affairs assistant and EducationUSA adviser managing and coordinating youth and professional exchange programs and educational advising for international students planning to study in the US. He worked to increase the number of Namibians studying in the US by 80% in the last five years https://bit.ly/3j8x0WT. He also continues to teach Development Studies and Adult Learning at the Namibia College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) on a part-time basis.
Pinias is married and is the father of two children; John (15) and Mathilde (9 months). Pinias says “I love teaching and researching and I am a strong advocate for Experiential Education. The opportunity to join the CGEE team could not have come at a better time and I am ready to assist in giving our students an excellent Southern Africa experience”.
Monika Shikongo
Part-time instructor
Monika Shikongo is the Instructor for Environment and Sustainability course. Monika holds a Master’s Degree in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, USA. She further holds a Bachelor of Technology in Nature Conservation and National Diploma in Natural resources Management - Nature Conservation from Namibia University of Science and Technology.
Monika’s current full-time employment is with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in Namibia, as the Chief Warden for Transfrontier Conservation and Landscape Management. She serves as the Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) focal person for Government to the Ramsar Convention of Important Wetlands. She also worked as a chief warden for Environmental Education and Awareness, in the Department of Environmental Affairs. In 2008, she became the first woman to manage a National park in Namibia. She has been awarded several conservation awards in recognition of her major contribution to conservation of Africa natural environment.
Monika is a mother to a four year old boy. In her own words, Monika indicated “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to join the CGEE team in Namibia and looking forward to sharing my knowledge with students and staff.”
Victoria 'Vicky' Endjala
Instructor
Viktoria Endjala is a young professional with expertise and a keen interest in teaching, sustainable development, community development and gender inclusion. With over seven years of experience as an Environmental Educator, Program Developer, and a Center Manager, this has accorded her an opportunity to work with different communities from varying backgrounds, which inspired her passion for community development work. One of the notable achievements under her stewardship includes working with rural communities to improve their livelihood and communities through social and environmental projects. Furthermore, after working in community development and especially with donor funding, it has peaked her interest and want to understand development aid. Therefore, she currently engages in discussions and activities with a development aid focus. Viktoria enjoys writing and one of her accomplishments is the publication of several educational materials to support the training workshops she conducts, including several series of the Bush Telegraph Magazine and a career guide for jobs in a green economy, It’s Time to Work.
Currently she serves as a project coordinator for an ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) project that is primarily aimed at developing/strengthening community-based organizations governance structures to build resilience to the adverse impacts of climate change particularly for the rural communities and other vulnerable members of society.
Viktoria is an advocate for gender inclusion and social welfare. In her current position she works to ensure the voice of women, youth and the marginalized are actively and vigorously included in project activities. In her spare time, she donates to causes aimed at improving the life of the girl child and rural women in all spheres.
She obtained a Bachelors in Natural Resources Management from Namibia University of Science and Technology and Bachelors in Sustainable, Energy and Technology with a minor in Biobased Technology and Business Development from Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Currently, she is pursuing a Masters in Integrated Environmental Management and Sustainable Development at the International University of Management.

Remember Namushinga
Instructor
Mr. Remember Namushinga is the youngest of four siblings, currently 27 years of age. He best describes himself that during his teenage years he wrote articles in the school newspaper that is where he developed the love for literature and reading. After losing his older brother to cancer; this fueled his passion for helping people, eventually leading to creating his own organization called ‘Love Overcomes All’. Through this, he have been involved in numerous humanitarian projects, like food and clothing drives with the Namibian Red Cross Society, having Christmas parties for the cancer children’s wards from 2016 until 2019.

Mr. Namushinga has been a Teaching Assistant at the University of Namibia from the year 2016 until 2019 under the direct supervision of Professor Hunter and Doctor Tjibeba of the University of Namibia in the Religious Studies section. He is a lecture for World Religious Traditions Hinduism and Buddhism, Moral and Religious Foundations of Society in Namibia, African Religious History as well as African Traditional Religion.
Sarah Amushila
Food Service Manager/ Homestay Coordinator
I was born in a town 200 km from Windhoek in Erongo Region called Usakos .I grew up with 4 brothers and six sisters. We lost our brother in exile and one sister to death. I am the last born. My mother is late and father is alive and is 90 years of age. I spent my primary school days in Usakos attending at E.Goseb primary school and my high school days at Cornelius Goreseb high school in Khorixas were we sometimes are going for our rural homestays with CGEE students’ am Damara /Nama speaking but has a taste for other language and cultures .My husband is Oshiwambo speaking at home we speak Afrikaans and English. When I am going to the North to visit my in-laws I speak Oshiwambo.
My love to bring stewardship at CGEE started in 1994. Every day I come to my work I bring my positive energy. The reason for that is I am giving my skills and flexibility. Through that I learn and listen every day from my co-workers as well as students.
My duties at CGEE are to make sure to provide healthy meals and to assure the students with safe and experiential learning week with urban and rural homestay families .I always work as a team. The work I do is forming my world throughout the years and confidently bringing me closer to CGEEs objectives of lifelong learning. I am proud to be associated with CGEE in Windhoek /Namibia.
Lovisa Mulunga
International Resident Assistant
Lovisa Mulunga is a driven youth with over six years of experience in youth empowerment, and sport for development. She holds an MBA from Albany State University (2021) and an Honors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Namibia (2019).
Lovisa has served as a General Administrator at the Ministry of Youth & Sports, where she supported the Ministry with administrative duties. She also volunteered with the Namibia Football Association’s Women’s Department (2013–2019) and contributed to programs like UNICEF’s Galz & Goals.
Internationally, she represented Namibia at leadership programs, and is an active member of the Young Achievers Empowerment Project.
Eveline Muukua
Assistant Chef
Eveline is originally from Tsumeb, a town in northern Namibia. She was raised in Katutura, where she attended primary school at Bethold Himumuine School. Evelyn finished her grade 10 at A. Shipena Secondary School in 1987, after which she began working at the Continental Hotel as a room-service chef in 1990 and a waitress afterwards. Eveline came to CGEE – Namibia in 1998 as a cleaner and was hired as a chef/food service assistant in September 2000. She also does stock control and assists with house maintenance. Eveline attended a menu course in 2003 at the Polytechnic of Namibia and still plans to learn more.
Eveline's mother language is Oshiwambo, but was raised by her stepmother and father who are both Otjiherero speaking. Besides Otjiherero, she also speaks English, and Afrikaans. In addition to cooking, Evelyn enjoys music, watching TV, and spending time with her children. She is a mother of five children. They are three boys: Radley (27), Uazuvirua (11) and Matunu (7) and two girls: Kajona (20) and Injomoka (16).
Hiskia Nangombe
Driver
Mr. Hiskia Nangombe, is a Namibian man, originally from Oshikoto region in Northern Namibia. Hiskia is married, and has 3 children, namely Victoria, Selma and Thalia. Hiskia live in Windhoek with his family. He joined the Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE) as a Driver on June 1, 2022.
Prior to joining CGEE, Hiskia worked as a Driver at the following companies in Namibia: Robex Company, Otjomuise Construction Company and Forca Namibia Cc. Hiskia also worked for many years as a long distance taxi/bus driver, making him well versed with routes and driving conditions, especially in the city of Windhoek.
In his own words, Hiskia said: “I am delighted to join the CGEE team. I am always dedicated to my work and enjoy spending time with other people. I am excited and looking forward to taking our students and staff to different parts of Namibia. Thank you for giving me this opportunity."
Kristofina Donna Kawana
House Maintenance Assistant
Donna was born in Runda, Namibia and now lives in Windhoek. She grew up in Rundu (a town about 10 hours North east of Windhoek) where she attended her primary and secondary education. She lived her whole life with her parents. Donna is a mother to a beautiful girl. Donna ’s mother language is Rukuangali and she also speaks English and understands Oshiwambo. Donna enjoys travelling, reading, and cooking. She joined CGEE in January 2017.
