The many people who have died need to be appreciated, but today we will be talking about four main celebrities who died this past year.

“I feel his legacy affected the game by making it better for everyone, and it changed broadcasting and football forever and made the game better for everyone,” eighth-grader Cooper Noble said when asked how the legacy of John Madden affected football.

John Madden was most remembered for the young generation for the football game “Madden”.

“The gameplay is smoother, franchise mode has more layers and MUT will remain a powerhouse. However, while each of the three areas deliver on one had, they each have a drawback,” forbes.com states when talking about the Madden 22 video game compared to Madden 21.

In comparison, the older generation remembers Madden more as the commentator and the coach.

“Yes, I was very impressed when looking back at his super bowls and record as a coach,” Noble added when asked if he was impressed when he realized how good his career was.

Along with the great John Madden, Betty White affected her time in a very impactful way. She was one of the greatest actresses of all time.

“She was an amazing actress who managed a top notch career through ‘99.” Choir and Drama teacher Mr. Char said.

Betty White was also remembered for being a top notch comedian in the 2000’s. This was more in effect later in her career after she was done with acting with examples such as the famous Snickers commercial. “She was a full time comedian who when most stuck with one generation, Betty kept changing with different generations.” Char added.

Additionally, Norm MacDonald was a famous comedian that was most popular for his appearances on SNL from 1993-1998.

“Norm was very good at making statements that were very believable and fantastic.” Seventh-grade counselor Mr. Vatne replied when asked how he felt MacDonald affected the comedy of his time.

The final person that we will be adding to this list of celebrities is the famous South African Bishop Desmond Tutu. "In 1984 received the Nobel Prize for Peace for his role on the opposition to apartheid in South Africa," Britannica.com states. Tutu was also popular for being a human rights activist.

These people all have affected their times in different ways from being a comedian to affecting football’s history. Along with other celebrities, typical people do need to be appreciated as well.

“She was best at being delightful and funny and was very good at different roles.”
