Assessment

Assessments

Assessments will be conducted throughout each grading period. Assessments are primarily used to allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the material that has been taught. Assessments have two types: formative and summative. Formative assessments allow teachers to identify student learning needs, plan next instructional steps, and provide students feedback on their learning. Summative assessments are administered after student learning has taken place and are used to determine student competence level over material in the assessment.

The table below outlines the types of assessments students will take throughout the year and their purpose.
