There is no such thing as a deadline to stop receiving new initial referrals, but there is such a thing as living in the real world and not being able to finish by summer. What you can say to your guidance team: "Are there any students you are thinking of referring? Please don't wait!" What you can't say: "Too late haha, the door for referrals is closed."
Our practice is not to convene IEPs and evaluations in the first weeks of a new school year --so we do those in the Spring instead. Please plan to complete all paperwork this year for any students with IEPs due through September 30th, or Evaluations due through October 31st.

Please always prepare for your evaluation and/or meetings by coming with a completed draft. It's not finalized until the meeting ends, but it should be fully drafted before the meeting starts. The points of discussion in your meeting should be around tweaking and improving the ideas already on the page, not coming up with them from scratch.
Searching the internet can be a good way to find instructional ideas and tools, but you often run into paywalls for the really good stuff. Did you know that Auburn SD already has paid accounts in place for you to some of the best sped resources out there? Well we do, so please use them!
