Our Mission
- Educate students and the community about STEM in a fun and exciting way.
- Use our knowledge responsibly to improve our community and the world.
- Make long lasting friendships with teammates and with other teams.
- Effectively communicate professionally with other teams, adults, authority figures, and sponsors.
- Be an inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to learn and better themselves through STEM
Established in 2014
Although our name is R.A.V.E.N. Robotics 5683, we started out in 2014 under the name R.A.V.E. Robotics (which stands for "Ravens Advocating the Virtues of Engineering". Raven is our school mascot).
Then when making the club official though the school district, we re-branded into Riverside Robotics to avoid the potential of not taking away from the gracious professional association with Rave Parties.
Now, we have successfully embraced and grown into our new team identity.

Team Organization
We had a total of:
27 student members for the 2024 season
22 student members for the 2023 season
19 student members for the 2022 season
24 student members for the 2021 season
38 student members for the 2020 season, the most in our teams history.
After a rough year in 2015, of only having eight members, we have grown through rigorous recruitment.
We split our team into five different sub teams:
Mechanical
Electrical
CAD
Programming
And, PR.
While everyone is encouraged to try out multiple sub teams, the students that decide to specialize often take on the leadership role of teaching the first-year students.
We also have four elected student leaders to be the second in command to the mentors.

Outreach
Our goal through outreach is to encourage people of all ages to get involved in STEM. Through mentoring FTC teams and presenting at community events we show our community that STEM is fun!
