Dick Scobee Elementary Library
Meet the Librarians
Mrs. Scholzen
Library Teacher
I am thrilled to be teaching in the library at Dick Scobee for my fourth year. Before coming into the library I taught first grade at Dick Scobee for 14 years. Yes, you did notice a theme. I am very blessed to have worked all 19 years in education at the same location and would have it no other way.
I went to school in the Auburn School District from 9th-12th grade. I was lucky enough to meet my husband in high school at Auburn High (go Trojans) to then eventually graduate together from Auburn Riverside in '97 (go Ravens). We have now been married for 22 years and have been blessed with a spunky 10 year old daughter who knows how to keep us on our toes.
My husband has been a great support as I have worked at furthering my education. I have an Elementary Education degree through Central Washington University, my Professional Certification through Pacific Lutheran University, my Masters of Arts in Teaching through Grand Canyon University and completed my Library Media Endorsement through Central Washington University.
I am excited for what this school year has in store for us and what awaits us in the near future.
If you have an questions please email me at jscholzen@auburn.wednet.edu.
Mrs. Warren
Library Para-Educator
Each day I come to work, I am excited about being a part of the Dick Scobee Elementary School family. Especially because working in the Library with children is something I love doing. Before coming to Dick Scobee, I worked with high school students in the Upward Bound College Preparatory Program.
I enjoy reading to children and enjoy the opportunities to read to our students. I always read to my children and great/grandchildren when they were young and enjoy reading to my four-year old grandson, Grayson James, who loves to turn the pages.
I am a mother of six, and a grandmother of 7 and have one great-grand daughter. Our three younger sons all went to schools in the Auburn School District. I have been married for 43 years to my husband James. We met when I was in middle school and he was in high school.
I am a graduate of Highline College and Evergreen State College, holding degrees in Human Services from both colleges. I’m a vocalist and song writer. For a short while, I volunteered at the Auburn Rehabilitation Center. I also enjoy making headbands, jewelry, greeting cards, gift baskets, and of course book markers. I also like to draw and sketch. I enjoy cooking and fellowshipping with friends and family.
My goal as a Library Para-Educator is to leave a positive impression and make a difference in the lives of our students. It was my youngest son, Malichi, who encouraged me to continue going to school for my bachelor's degree because his 5th grade teacher taught his class about the importance of a higher education. I will continue to make our library time educational, memorable and exciting, I am thankful to be here.
