0.1 Rules and Procedures

With all things we do in life having rules and procedures is important. They help to guide us forward to desired results. Please review the rules and procedures listed below.

Rules:

  • Be polite and respectful.

  • Listen carefully, read all directions/information and follow directions.

  • Be on time for class and ready to learn.

Classroom Procedures:

  • Bring proper materials every day.

  • Take notes and write down examples.

  • Assignments can often be completed in class. Assignments not completed in class are sent home as homework. Assignments may be graded for completion or letter grades. Tests and quizzes will be letter grades.

  • It is your responsibility to get make-up work completed.

  • Each student has two passes per 9-weeks to use for their locker or the restroom. Passes do not carry over to the next 9-weeks.

  • Students will be considered tardy if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings. 1st tardy – verbal warning. 2nd tardy – verbal warning. 3rd tardy – detention.

Grading:

  • Grades are computed on total points at the end of each 9-weeks and based on assignments, quizzes, and tests.

  • There will be assignments throughout the week and they are expected to be completed on a daily basis. All work must be turned in for the week by Friday at the end of your class period.

  • If requested by the student, I will exclude ONE 10-point assignment per quarter. You must be specific about which assignment you want me to exclude.

  • The 9-weeks exam is 20% of the 9-weeks grade.

  • The grading scale is based on a 10% scale.

Consequences

  1. First verbal warning

  2. Second verbal warning - parents will be contacted in hopes of rectifying the situation.

  3. Repeated offenses and major disruptions - students may be removed from class and will still be responsible for the material covered and lesson assigned.

  4. Repeated offenses and major disruptions that are not corrected with the above consequences will result in an immediate and direct referral to the principal.
