Project Overview:
Students were paired up and tasked with filming a mini-movie or movie trailer using their phones. They had two class days to film and three class days to edit in Adobe Premiere Pro. Each video was required to be 30-60 seconds long and include at least ten scenes or cuts, incorporating transitions, background music, and text overlays to enhance the story. This project was designed to be a fun, lighthearted way for students to learn teamwork, quick planning, fast filming, and efficient editing. We dedicated one class day for the whole class to watch and enjoy each other's creations, followed by another day to provide and receive constructive feedback on what went well and areas for improvement in future projects.
Project Overview:
In this project, students were given a week to transform a series of images into a captivating photo collage in Adobe Photoshop, making it appear as though they were holding the moon and stars in their hands. We began by having each student pose in a specially designed set in our photography studio, capturing the base image for their collage. Photos were then shared via Google Drive, allowing each student to use their own image as the starting layer in Photoshop.
The students were guided to create a dramatic effect by darkening the room around them, positioning the moon and stars precisely, blending these elements seamlessly, and adding a glowing effect to illuminate their faces, hands, and the surface in front of them. Once the collages were complete, we dedicated a day for students to showcase their work, offering feedback on what stood out and identifying areas for future improvement. This project emphasizes the power of Photoshop to bring imaginative ideas to life, while reinforcing the importance of patience, attention to detail, and consistent skill development.
Project Overview:
In this Photoshop project, students were tasked with blending creativity and technical skills to create a 'Hybrid Animal.' They began by selecting two animal images from Google, choosing features they wanted to combine to produce a unique, mythical creature. Using Photoshop tools, students meticulously merged these images, adjusting layers, refining edges, and blending textures to create a seamless and believable new animal. This project encouraged students to think creatively and apply technical skills, like masking and blending, to bring their imaginative ideas to life. By the end, each student had crafted an original creature that showcased both their artistic vision and Photoshop abilities.
