Cathleen Kong

Cathleen Kong is a computer science educator with experience teaching, designing technology-enhanced learning experiences, and working in the software engineering industry. She earned her Master of Education in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Computer Science from Princeton University.

Before becoming an educator, she worked as a software engineer at Microsoft Education, where she developed technology to support teaching and learning. Now, she teaches computer science courses at Chelmsford High School, where she is driven by a commitment to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence through computer science.

Scott Bower

Scott Bower is an educator, global citizenship advocate, and doctoral researcher passionate about helping young people become thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged global citizens.

Originally from California, Scott has taught in the United States and internationally, including Peru and Brazil, bringing over a decade of experience in diverse learning environments. He is also the host of the Be A Global Citizen! podcast, where he interviews inspiring educators and changemakers from around the world.

Scott holds a B.A. in International Studies from Soka University of America and two Master of Education degrees from DePaul University and Harvard University. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Education Leadership at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with an expected graduation in Spring 2029.

Meley Ghermay

Meley Ghermay is a sophomore at Harvard University studying Human Developmental & Regenerative Biology with interests in global health, education, and scientific research. She is passionate about making STEM more accessible and inspiring young people to ask meaningful questions, think creatively, and see themselves as future innovators.

At Harvard, Meley serves in the Harvard Undergraduate Association, Harvard UNICEF, the Harvard Undergraduate Consulting Group, and the Dean of Students Survey Advisory Group. Before college, she founded Mending the Gap, an initiative supporting immigrant and newly arrived families through educational workshops and college access resources, and spent several years teaching Tigrinya to younger students to help preserve language and culture.

As an ATWIN X-STEAM Teaching Fellow, Meley is excited to help students explore STEM through curiosity, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning. She hopes to create an environment where every student feels empowered to ask questions, learn from one another, and discover new passions.

Byron Aho

Byron Aho believes that learning begins with asking meaningful questions and having the courage to seek truth. Passionate about design, technology, and innovation, he enjoys connecting ideas from different fields to help others see the world from new perspectives.

He believes that growth comes through curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning. Byron hopes to inspire young people to think deeply, serve others with kindness, and make a positive difference in their communities—one thoughtful step at a time.
