Quality Matters
Brenda Boyd joined QM in May 2011 and currently serves as Vice President, Program Services. She provides leadership for the professional development, quality assurance department, and K-12 departments and is responsible for the regular updating of the QM Higher Education Rubrics.
Brenda has served QM in several capacities since 2004. During the grant-funded period, She served on the QM Advisory Board and helped found the Ohio Quality Matters Consortium in 2007, serving as a state-wide system QM-Certified Face-to-Face Facilitator to bring QM to institutions throughout the State of Ohio. Brenda served on the Rubric Review Committee for the 2011-2013 Edition of the QM Rubric and was co-chair of the QM Higher Education Rubric Committee for the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Editions.
Brenda worked with colleges and universities for 11 years before joining QM. She has supported faculty in moving their on-ground course online and has led faculty learning communities on topics ranging from using technology in the classroom to using virtual worlds for teaching and learning.
She holds an M.S. in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University and a B.F.A. from the University of Dayton.
The QM Higher Education Rubric, Seventh Edition, was released in July 2023. Brenda Boyd, one of the co-chairs of the Rubric Committee provides an overview of the changes to the rubric through an AI lens. Paula McDougald has more than 14 years of experience teaching high school math in both face-to-face and online classrooms. She joined Virtual Arkansas in 2015 as a high school math teacher while earning a master's degree in Instructional Technology - Media Design & Development. In 2018, she moved into her current role as Lead Course Design Specialist, where she manages course design and development projects, assists with the creation, implementation, and revision of online courses, and serves as the QM Coordinator. Befitting her passion for quality, Paula has also served as a Master Reviewer for a number of Quality Matters reviews.

Dr. Diana Dell is the Director of the Master of Educational Technology Program at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. She is an instructional technologist with more than 40 years of experience in K-12 education and higher education. She is passionate about improving learning using cutting-edge, engaging technology. Her background encompasses K-12 teaching, staff development, instructional support, instructional design, educational web publishing, edtech consulting, online teaching, and serving as a chair on dissertation committees. She is interested in student engagement, course design, artificial intelligence, and instructional models for digital learners using learning management systems.
