Tips for Students

  • Monitor their students and make sure they are logging into Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams every week day.

  • Remind their students to engage politely, respectfully, and meaningfully online.

  • Encourage their students to be active participants in their learning (which may include discussions, collaborations, assessments, presentations, etc.)

  • Check Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams to see that assignments and homework are being turned in by the deadlines.

  • Ensure that their student takes appropriate breaks to reduce screen time.

  • Read announcements and email communication received from their teachers.

  • Reach out to your child's teachers to ask questions if you have them.

  • Check your Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for important information, assignments and videos from your teachers.

  • Actively participate every day.

  • Engage politely, respectfully, and meaningfully online.

  • Listen first and ask questions second.

  • Complete all assignments and homework.

  • Adhere to assignment deadlines.

  • Collaborate with peers when asked to do so.

  • Understand and agree all work submitted must represent their original ideas and/or they must appropriately cite all relevant resources.

  • Read all related directions, links, documents may be posted in Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Email your teachers if you have any questions.

  • Respond to their teachers in a timely manner.


All "Distance Learning Days" assignments can be accessed by logging into your Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, which is located in myBackpack.

Go to myBackpack on your computer, iPad, tablet, or Phone. You can click on the link below to access myBackpack. You can also navigate to mybackpack.apsk12.org on your digital device.

Click the icons above to download the app on your phone or tablet.

Access your Distance Learning Days assignments by clicking on Google Classroom or the Office 365 icon (to access Teams or OneNote). Your teacher will let you know where your assignments are located.

To access your Microsoft Teams or Class Notebook, first click on the orange Office 365 icon. You will be taken to the ribbon where all of your Microsoft applications are located.
