Eligible participants are able to receive up to 12 consecutive monthly supplemental childcare stipends. The value of each stipend will be determined by rank and these payments are not intended to cover all childcare costs. The aim of this program is to provide consistent, supplemental payments to participants so to mitigate the impact of sometimes erratic shift work and the unpredictable nature of policework.

Who administers this program?
Initial application and approvals are managed by APD and APF performs the administrative support for all participants once enrolled.
Who can participate in the program?
Sworn APD officers who are on active duty (post field training) and are in good standing with the agency and not suspended or in a disciplinary status (see guidelines).
What are the age requirements for the participating child?
Children five (5 ) years of age and under at the time of application are eligible to participate.
Can a participant receive an award for more than one child?
No, one (1) child per participant only.
Do I have to live within the city limits of Atlanta in order to participate?
No, the residency requirement has been waived.
How many payments can I receive?
Eligible participants may qualify for up to 12 consecutive payments per enrollment period.
Can my childcare provider be a family member?
Childcare providers must be a licensed business in Georgia and be quality-rated certified.
How will I receive the benefit distributions?
All payments will be made directly to the Childcare provider via the completed W9 form required during the application process.
