10/7 - 4:15 PM: BCL 2 @ Crab Cove

11/4 - 2 PM: BCL Champs @ Point Pinole

Races are scored by assigning a point value for the place a runner finishes. Cross Country is similar to golf in that the lowest score wins. If a runner finishes first, they will earn 1 point. Finishing 27th would earn 27 points. 

The team score is the cumulative total of the first five finishers for the team (the scoring 5).  The team's 6th and 7th runners (the displacers) also receive a score, but that is only used to make other team scores higher.  The lowest score is 15 points, with the top five runners occupying the first five finishing positions. Teams who do not have at least 5 runners are removed from the team scoring calculations.  

Athenian is a Division V school (<=600 students).  There are 71 teams in the Division 5 NCS league for 2026.  The Top 5 girls' teams  and the top 4 boys' teams at the Division V NCS Championship (in Hayward) will qualify to race at the Division V State Championship (in Fresno).  The top 5 individuals not part of a qualifying team also qualify to race at State if they place within the top 18 girls or top 16 boys finishers at NCS.
