As a Subject Area, our subject-specific aims
are ever parallel to the goals of our dear Alma Mater.
The Math Subject Area aims to be a moving force in Mathematics Education that serves the Filipino nation by forming Christ-committed problem-solvers through globally competitive programs.
The Math Subject Area, through the rigors and training of the Regular and Advanced Math Programs,
equips the students with the discipline and fundamental skills that help them
make sound and responsible decisions.
We emphasize the correct application of mathematical concepts, the attention to precision, speed and accuracy, and the use of creative approaches in problem solving.
With these, we develop in the students the will to persevere in
connecting and extending their mathematical skills to, not only their personal growth and learning,
but also to the betterment of their immediate community,
all the while ultimately guided by core Christian values.
The Math Subject Area equips the students with the discipline and fundamental skills that help them develop:
by setting high standards for themselves in demonstrating accuracy, precision, critical thinking, and creativity in their work;
by exhibiting self-discipline, value for hard work and grit in accomplishing their tasks;
by personifying integrity in all collaborative and unsupervised work;
by communicating their ideas to aid their peers and to contribute to fruitful class endeavors and by realizing their learning for the betterment of their family, their community, and the country; and
by applying their mathematical knowledge, skills, and attitudes in their desire to see and seek God in all things.
Ateneo Junior High School Math students, guided by Christian and Ignatian values, are:
disciplined CRITICAL THINKERS who excellently utilize their acquired knowledge and fundamental skills;
self-regulating CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVERS who responsibly provide solutions to problems with accuracy and precision;
empowering COLLABORATORS who constantly engage in character-building work and communicate their ideas in meaningful and relevant discussions; and
resilient CHANGE AGENTS who personify integrity in their thoughts, words, decisions, and deeds as they respond to the challenges of the school and the changes in the environment for the betterment of their immediate community.
