Abstract
Women are often absent or peripheral in most mainstream historical narratives, particularly in predominantly patriarchal cultures like that of the Philippines. This lack of documentation on women, in turn, creates further challenges in attempts to assemble more inclusive histories. To fill such gaps, archives provide invaluable resources and information. More than passive repositories, women’s archives are political statements against consigning women and their contributions to oblivion.
