Abstract
When the Korean War started on June 25, 1950, the Philippines was one of the first countries who supported the call of the United Nations for assistance in Korea. The Philippines initially sent an estimated 7,400 soldiers spread out from 1950-1955. Filipino soldiers participated in various phases of the war experiencing many difficulties and seeing the destruction of the war. 70 years on, the Philippine participation in the Korean War became an unfamiliar chapter in Philippine history. This lecture presents a brief history of the Philippines in the Korean War and the legacy of the Korean War in Philippine history.
