Ateneo CORD did a quick study on the different organization-level initiatives being done to care for employees during this crisis. These initiatives can be be summarized with the word PROTECT.

Ensure that the employees have financial security during these uncertain times
Examples of initiatives:
Regular and continued disbursement of salary
Early disbursement of bonuses
Additional premium / hazard pay for those on duty (not work-from-home)
Salary advances or loan deferments
Pooling of resources for daily wage earners (ex: security, cleaning staff, drivers)
Practice flexibility and understanding with regards to performance metrics of employees and org-level plans for the organization
Examples of initiatives:
Adjust deadlines
Adjust quotas (lowered)
Form a COVID-19 task force to regularly monitor news and updates, and plan for company’s next steps (for example, programs when quarantine is lifted)
Consider the working context of your employees and provide relevant support
Examples of initiatives:
Provision of supplies to help protect from COVID19 (ex: alcohol, masks, vitamins)
For frontliners / skeletal workforce: provision of transportation, meals, sleeping quarters, laundry services
For those working from home: internet allowance
Provide resources to help employees learn about alternative work platforms; Train specifically about health
Examples of initiatives:
Sharing of knowledge resources (articles, videos) to help transition to work-from-home set up (ex: how to set up home office, how to lead virtual teams, how to present online)
Sharing information about apps and collaborative platforms that can be used during quarantine period
Online programs for new skills
Train specifically about coping techniques: stress management, breathing, mental health
Continuously engage employees through regular check-ups and various activities
Examples of initiatives:
Online engagement activities (ex: workout classes, bingo, games, prayer time)
Regular kamustahan with team; checking / monitoring of health status of employees and their families
Continuation of birthday greetings
Provide psychosocial online sessions for those who need it
Provide information and inspiration to the workforce through regular communication

Message from president / leader to assure workforce of the company’s support
Regular newsletters from the organization
Sharing useful updates about COVID situation

Consider how organization can help clients
Financial assistance to other stakeholders (ex: third-party suppliers, distributors, etc.)
CSR initiatives for the broader community (ex: donations)
