What is the criteria for admissions now that there is no ACET?
Even when we had the Ateneo College Entrance Test, this was not the only criteria we based students' admission on. Given the current situation we are in right now, these are the following criteria we have put in place as we review your admissions:
Grade 9 to 11 grades
Batch rank
Recommendation forms
Personal essay
Disciplinary records
Co-curricular/Extracurricular activities
Will you withdraw the cancellation of the ACET given the vaccine comes in time?
No. We want to keep everyone safe, students and test administers alike.
Where do I apply for admissions to Ateneo?
You may visit our application hub at: apply.ateneo.edu/college
When will the results be released?
The release of decisions will be sent via email sometime in April 2021.
Make sure you use an email address you regularly check and can easily access.
What if I have a failing mark in my record? Does that mean that I won't be accepted in Ateneo?
As mentioned in the No-ACET Scenario section, your grades are just one of many things we look at when reviewing your application. That being said, we highly encourage you to still apply if you think that you have other areas which you excel in.
How will you administer the honor’s program applications?
They will depend on your grades in specific subjects related to your course.
ex. SOSE = Math and Science grades
Your high school grades will also have more weight in our deliberations.
How will those in strands be evaluated? Will they be prioritized?
We do not discriminate against students who are taking courses not within their strands. You are not ranked based on the strand per se; you are ranked according to your batch.
Are those from different strands required to take bridging programs?
For some yes. To clarify further on the matter, please send an email to the respective school you are planning to get into and inquire about bridging requirements (by schools we mean if your course/degree falls under: School of Humanities, School of Social Sciences, etc.)
How will my school's non-letter grading system apply?
We have our own mathematical formulas for those types of grades.
What is the personal essay about?
You have to write an essay about your most significant experience/accomplishment and how this has helped shaped you as a person.
How long does the essay have to be?
There is no minimum or maximum word count. Just make sure that your essay is well articulated and interesting to read.
Can we write in Filipino?
Yes, you may. Whether you choose to write in English or Filipino, make sure that you do not mix them together (Taglish).
Can we ask our JHS teachers to be our recommenders?
Yes. Although we prefer that you choose a teacher from grade 11 since this teacher will most likely know who you are now as opposed to who you were back then.
[For Route 1 applicants only] Who do I email for our High School Record and Principal's Recommendation Form?
You may ask your Principal or Guidance Counselor to send an email to Mr. Johnson G. Fajardo, Assistant to the Director for Admission, at jfajardo@ateneo.edu to request for this form.
[For Route 2 applicants only] Do I need to accomplish the application form before I send the recommendation form links to my recommenders?
No, this is a separate process. Just don't forget to place the names of the recommenders you sent the links to in the Recommendations section of the form.
In what category do awards from co-curricular competitions belong to? Do they fall under academic information or extra-curricular activities?
There is a separate section for honours and awards. You may input the awards granted to you in the application form.
For ongoing extracurricular activities, should we wait until they finish or should we submit our application form immediately?
You can save your application form as a draft first (only for the Edukasyon Portal).
The deadline is still in December so if you think that there are still activities you can catch up on in the following months then we suggest you delay your submission.
Can we include activities from outside our school?
Yes, they are counted as extracurricular activities.
Do our extra-curricular activities have to match our courses?
Not necessarily, but it would help if you are applying, for example, to a School of Science and Engineering (SOSE) course when you have experience in competitions. However, it is no deal breaker at all.
Do we have to upload a certificate of proof for our awards and extracurricular activities?
No, we do not require these documents.
How can I edit my application form?
You can save your application form in drafts per section by clicking on the "Save as draft" button found in the different sections of the application form.
However, if you have submitted it already, kindly send an email requesting for changes to onlineadmissions.ls@ateneo.edu (CC: magis.admissions.ls@ateneo.edu)
Along with this please do state your full name, school, the application route/portal taken, and the email address you used so that we can easily track your application.
Where can you find the Ateneo Application Number (AAN)?
The AAN is found within the generated PDF that you receive after you have accomplished the admission procedures.
Since application fees are waived for public and science high school students, what do I upload in the payment slip section?
You may upload your school ID or any proof of enrollment.
What if I accidentally used my personal email for application? Will my application be disqualified?
No. All that matters is that you remember the email you used as well as the password so that you can view the results on April 2021 or have something to refer to if ever you have requests for edits.
Edukasyon's website is malfunctioning. What do I do? (PDF Download errors, missing details, etc.)
Kindly send an email to onlineadmissions.ls@ateneo.edu (and cc: magis.admissions.ls@ateneo.edu) regarding the issue/s you experienced.
Along with this please do state your full name, school, the application route/portal taken, and the email address you used so that we can easily track your application.
Can I save my application as a draft first?
Unfortunately, the Ateneo portal has no saving feature.
When will I receive my Ateneo Application Number (AAN)?
You will receive your AAN once you submit all of the requirements (including the recommendation forms).
Once our personnel have checked your application, a confirmation email will be sent to you as well as your AAN.
Can we transfer during the second semester?
No, student intake only happens before first semester. That applies to all kinds of students so if he/she applies by now then your admission to the university will still be in the first semester of SY 2021-2022.
Our school follows the trimester system. Can I apply as a transferee even if I've only finished 1 of 3?
Yes, you may apply.
When is the deadline?
The deadliest deadline for the confirmation requirements is on January 6, 2021
Can I drop the documents off myself?
We highly discourage that the applicant be the one to personally hand over the documents, however if the applicant insists then you may do so. We also do not want to cause heavy traffic in the area.
Do note as well that couriers such as Grab and Lalamove are viable options. If you were to use this delivery system, however, you may place Johnson Fajardo as the recipient and use your mobile number for the contact details (since we cannot disclose our staff's contact information). Please also inform the driver to drop it off by the guard at gate 3.
Who do I send an email to if my school won't sign or fill up the recommendation form unless a request is given?
You can send an email to Mr. Johnson G. Fajardo, Assistant to the Director for Admission, at jfajardo@ateneo.edu regarding this issue.
Are past takers allowed to still apply for admission if they had not taken any units in college?
Yes, you may apply as a freshman again for the next school year, but you have to go through the same process as a regular applicant online.
You may also send your grade 12 grades through the Additional Documentation section.
Do I need to submit SAT/NCAE/IB Predicted scores?
No, these are just additional documents which means that they are optional.
How can I follow up with my admission application concerns?
