Search our library collection and put books on hold from any computer!
Request a book online and Mrs. King will save the book for you when it's available!
When requesting a book, your username is your lunch number and your password is your last name.
If you have trouble logging in and there is a book you want to put on hold,
you may email Mrs. King to ask her to do it for you or talk to her during your class library time.

Also, your local Atascadero Public Library has them all either as physical books, ebooks, or audiobooks.
2025-26 Book Adventure List TBD
Book Adventure is kind of like Battle of the Books for 4th and 5th grade. To participate in the end-of-year Book Adventure party, 2nd and 3rd graders must read a certain number of books from the Book Adventure list.
Return your books the DAY BEFORE your class goes to the library.
Grades 1-5 may check out up to 2 books at a time. TK and Kindergarten may check out 1 book. Grades 3-5 may also check out a magazine in addition to books.
Bring back BOTH of your library books, including renewal books. You may only get new ones if you return them both.
If you check out a magazine, it must stay at school in your desk. Please keep it safe in the blue plastic folder when you're not reading it.
Want to finish reading your book? You may renew it by leaving a bookmark in it when you turn it in, then Mrs. King will know to check it back out to you. Make sure it's sticking out of the top so Mrs. King can see it!
You and your parent/guardian are responsible for replacing or paying for a book that was lost or damaged while it was checked out to you.
If you've lost or damaged your book, talk to Mrs. King about it. She'll help you figure out what to do next. She cares about you and it's going to be okay!
Please talk to Mrs. King or your student's teacher if replacing a book will be a financial hardship for your family.
Is a book a good fit for you? Check the 5 Finger Rule!
There are books in our library for TK through 5th grade and beyond, so that means some books might be too hard for you to read yet. Our library uses the 5 Finger Rule method to find books that are just the right fit for the reading level you're at.
A call number is like an address for where a book is shelved in a library.
You could go to most libraries in the USA, including our local Atascadero Public Library, and fiction would be in alphabetical order by author and nonfiction would be in order by Dewey Decimal System numbers. Our MR school library is set up the same way!
Click here to learn more about call numbers in our school library.
Please use an indoor-talking voice and move with a calm body while in the library.
Use a shelf stick to hold the spot where you pulled out a book on the library shelf.
Use library computers only to look up a book's location or to put a book on hold. Remember to logout if you place a hold request using a library computer!
At the end of your class visit:
Put away your shelf stick
Push in your chair
Quietly line up by the door to wait for your teacher
Use a bookmark instead of folding pages.
Keep food and drinks away from our books.
Store our books neatly in your desk or book boxes when at school. Keep our books in your backpack when you're at home and not reading them.
Keep our books safe from pets and little brothers and sisters.
Keep our books dry, especially on rainy days.
Return our books on time to enjoy new ones!
Accessible through ClassLink. Must be logged in with an AUSD student-email account to access.
