The Performing Arts pathway at Atascadero High School focuses on the direct creation of art and entertainment by the individual artist instead of through a secondary physical medium. Performing artists are themselves the medium of creative expression.
The CTE classes include: an Introduction classes Improvisation and Introduction to Theater, the Concentration class -Intermediate Acting: Stage and Film and finally a Capstone class, Advanced Technical Theater in Production. Students that choose to participate in the CTE Performing Arts Pathway and complete all three classes will have a certificate of completion and a recognition at graduation for their accomplishment.
"CREATIVITY IS THE NEW CURRENCY FOR THE 21st CENTURY!"
Theatre students learn to exhibit creativity in such areas as acting, design, playwriting and directing, What is exciting is that through this process they become confident, well spoken, creative thinkers. Employers are not always aware that theatre experience also helps students learn creative problem-solving techniques that is directly applicable to virtually any job they have. This gives an advantage to those with a performing arts background, in a very competitive world.
This page is a collection of student works completed in one or more of the courses offered.
