AMS Engineering

In engineering, students learn about the engineering design process while engaging in the science and engineering practices. This introductory course gives students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the definition of engineering. Students explore various branches of engineering through activity, project, and problem based learning. The major focus of the course is to expose students to the design process, types of engineering, teamwork and communication methods, global and human impacts, the NGSS engineering standards strand, research and analysis, and technical documentation. Guest STEM speakers also join our course; they give students a connection to the community and provide exposure to the world of engineering. Lastly, this course applies and concurrently develops knowledge and skills in STEM.
