What is the Maker's Crate?

The ATA's Maker’s Crate Lending Library is a new initiative designed to support art educators across Nova Scotia by providing shared instructional kits that can be borrowed for classroom use. These kits allow teachers to explore specialized techniques and materials with their students without needing to purchase an entire set of equipment themselves.

Our first Maker’s Crate kit features Rug Hooking, inspired by one of our most popular recurring conference workshops. This kit includes the tools and materials needed to introduce students to this wonderful Nova Scotian craft tradition.

Available Lending Periods: (2026-2027 school year)

We will begin with two borrowing window opportunities this Winter:

• Jan 15 – Mar 15, 2027

• April 1 – June 15, 2027
