Welcome to the "Creating a VoiceThread" tutorial. ***Important Note: When you click to access VoiceThread from your Canvas course, you should be directed to your course's VoiceThread page (you should see the course title at the top of the window). You should not be prompted to login. If you are, please contact your instructor to make sure VoiceThread is properly configured in the course site.***
If you are following a presentation link that was shared with you by a classmate, make sure you open the link in the same browser where you are logged into the course site.
If you are creating an INDIVIDUAL VoiceThread assignment, please see the section, "Creating Individual VoiceThread Assignments."
If you are creating a VoiceThread presentation that is meant to be collaborative, or shared with your class, please follow the steps below:
***Important: You should see the course title at the top of the window (e.g. WPC 300: Prob Solving & Act Analytics (2020 Spring). If you do not see the course title, you are in the wrong place. Go back into Canvas and click the VoiceThread link to access you course's VoiceThread homepage.***
2. Click “Create a new VoiceThread.”
3. Click “Add Media” to add images or documents from your computer.
4. Add a Title to your VoiceThread.
5. Click the Playback Options tab and make sure that “Allow commenters to add slides to this VoiceThread” and “Allow others to make a copy” are selected. You may also save these settings as default for the future. Click “Save.”
6. If you want to add your voice to a slide, click “Comment.”
7. To continue adding slides, click the “+” sign.
8. When you are finished building your presentation, click the "Share and Return to Group" button.
9. Make sure to click the URL Button to complete the sharing step.
10. If VoiceThread does not automatically redirect you to your VoiceThread course homepage, click the "Home" button. Then click the fly-out tab on the left.
11. Find your course. Once you have located your course, click on it to load the Course Homepage.
12. You should now be able to see your presentation in your course homepage area. If you are not able to see your presentation, please open your presentation and go to "Share." Under the "Secure" tab, locate your course title, select it and click the "Share" button.
