At Herberger Young Scholars Academy (HYSA), the VR Club has been active since September 2023.
Students have spent the year learning to create their own games in Unity, as well as just playing around and experiencing VR for themselves.
Club members worked together to improve each others' games and create something they're proud of.
One of the VR Club leaders, Omkar Bharath, spent the summer of 2023 building three VR science experiments.
Participants can assemble a lemon battery, perform a flame color test on different chemicals, and watch mold grow on bread.
This was the flagship project that launched the creation of a VR Club in the first place.
Ram, another VR Club leader, created a virtual lab assistant over 2023 and 2024.
The lab assistant answers science questions on almost any topic, and can clarify any doubts.
Ram's project synergizes with all previous and future projects to display a whole new dimension of learning.
Tahlia, a VR Club Leader at Paradise Valley High School, developed a full lab experience based on Arizona State University (ASU) curricula.
The lab works the same as a physical one, and saves plenty of resources.
