Brighten up any room or classroom with this cheerful paper bird! Great for toddlers and preschoolers (with grown-up help for cutting).
✂️ What You’ll Need:
Colorful cardstock or construction paper (purple, yellow, orange, pink, cream)
Scissors
Glue stick or glue dots
Pencil (optional for tracing)
Bird template (you can draw your own or print one!)
🧩 Steps to Make It:
Choose Your Colors
Pick out your favorite colors for the bird’s body, wings, beak, cheek, and eye. Use similar pastel tones for a soft, playful look.
Cut Out the Shapes
One large oval for the bird’s body (purple in the example)
A triangle for the beak (yellow)
A small pink circle for the cheek
An almond shape for the eye and a teardrop for the eyelid
Three petal shapes for the wing (cream, pink, orange)
A tail with soft round edges
Layer and Glue
Glue the beak to the front of the bird’s face
Add the eye pieces just above the beak
Stick the pink circle cheek underneath the eye
Layer the petal shapes to form the wing and glue them in place
Finish with the tail at the back
Display Your Bird!
Hang your bird on a wall, attach it to a string for a mobile, or use it to decorate a card or scrapbook page.
💡 Craft Tip:
Let kids mix and match shapes and colors to make each bird unique! No two birds have to look the same.
Let your imagination run wild with this playful paper mask! Perfect for pretend play, costume time, or just a colorful afternoon craft.
✂️ What You’ll Need:
Construction paper or cardstock (pink, cream, purple)
Scissors (safety scissors for little ones)
Glue stick
Pencil
Hole punch and yarn (optional for wearing the mask)
🧩 Steps to Make It:
Make the Mask Base
Cut out a rounded square or oval shape from pink paper — this is your animal’s face! Gently fold it to snip two eye holes (grown-up help recommended).
Add the Ears
Cut two ear shapes from pink paper and two smaller cream shapes to go inside. Glue the cream pieces onto the pink ones, then glue the ears to the top of the mask.
Shape the Nose and Snout
Cut a tall triangle from cream paper for the snout, and a small purple triangle for the nose. Layer and glue both onto the center of the mask.
Add the Cheeks
Cut two purple circles and place one on each side of the mask for rosy cheeks.
Finishing Touches
Use a hole punch on each side of the mask and tie string or yarn if your child wants to wear it. Or just hold it up to play!
🐾 Craft Tip:
Let kids customize their animal with stripes, spots, or glitter! It could be a bear, cat, or a creature from their imagination.
