I was born and raised in Bwaise, one of Kampala’s largest and most underserved slums where poverty, stigma, and a lack of access to education define the future of too many children. I grew up watching dreams disappear not because children lacked ability, but because they lacked opportunity. For children with disabilities, the silence was even louder. They were hidden, dismissed, and left behind. Those early experiences ignited a fire in me, a belief that education is not just a classroom experience but a life-changing force. It’s what carried me from the narrow, dusty paths of Bwaise to the global classrooms of Arizona State University, where I am now completing my bachelor’s degree in Education Studies.
As a former teacher and Head Teacher of a community-based school, I’ve witnessed both the pain of exclusion and the power of possibility. These moments led me to launch TeachInclusively: Empowering Educators for Change, an initiative focused on equipping teachers to deliver inclusive, transformative education to underserved children, especially those with disabilities. After my Bachelors, I plan on joining a graduate school to pursue a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation to gain the business skills needed to scale Impactful Educational initiatives.
After school, I plan to launch a teacher peer-mentoring program, connecting retired U.S. teachers with Ugandan educators to foster knowledge exchange, professional development, and cross-cultural collaboration. Building on this foundation, I will establish a consultancy to mentor educators and implement evidence-based teaching strategies that drive systemic change in teacher training and education policies. These initiatives will lay the groundwork for my long - term vision of establishing a Teachers’ College and kindergarten and primary schools in Uganda.
I’m ready to take this vision from dream to action, but I cannot do it alone.
I am looking for partners who believe, like I do, that every child, regardless of where they’re born or their abilities deserves a chance to thrive. I am seeking mentors, advisors, and collaborators who can guide, support, and help shape this mission into a sustainable reality. If you're passionate about education, inclusion, or grassroots change, I invite you to walk this journey with me.
Together, we can rewrite the story for millions of children. Let’s build something that lasts. Let’s teach inclusively. Let’s transform lives; one teacher, one child, and one community at a time
