About Us

Welcome to the home of the ASU Swing Devils! We are the ASU swing dancing group. Our goal is to make swing dancing accessible to students from all backgrounds and to help grow the Phoenix area swing dancing community. We host lessons weekly and go social dancing every week. Check out our event coming up the first weekend of February!

Lessons

Thursday Nights: SDFC Small Gym B

• No partner required
• Wear comfortable shoes
• 7:30-7:45 pm
  • Social Dancing and Beginner Footwork Lessons
    • All are welcome!
    • No experience required
• 7:45-8:00 pm
  • Shim Sham/Big Apple Lessons
    • Come learn a well known dance that has a lot of moves you can use on the social floor
• 8:00-9:00 pm
  • Beginner Lesson
    • Learn a few new moves and practice with rotating partners

Tuesday Nights: 7:00-9:00 pm

  • All other Tuesdays
  • Some swing experience required
    • Know how to do a swing out

Social Dancing

Swing Devils members receive passes to attend the following dances for free:

• Kat's Korner in Mesa on Saturdays
• Hepkats in Mesa on Mondays
• The Duce in Phoenix on Tuesdays

How To Join

Requirements

• You must be an ASU Student
• You must have health insurance

Dues

Dues for a single semester are $55. If you pay up front for the whole year, it is $100.

• $25 per semester are paid on Do Sports Easy
• $30 a semester is paid to the President or Treasurer

Instructions

1. Go to https://asu.dserec.com/online/clubsports
2. Find Swing Devils and click Registration
3. Follow the instructions to complete registration
4. Make sure to do the Community of Care Quiz as well as pay the SDFC Fee and upload the receipt
5. Ensure that all uploaded pictures and documents are small files and have a unique name
6. Come to lessons and pay dues to President
7. Ask President for Social Dancing pass!
