Help children find shaded areas during outdoor physical activity
Discuss sun safety superpowers:
Shade
Be SUPER-protected when shadows are shorter
DIRECTIONS
Take the children outside where they can find shade. Ask children to find their shade superpower.
Ask children to do the following:
Find a shaded area.
Find out what is making the shade (e.g., trees, buildings, umbrellas).
Run from one shaded area to another.
Move in different ways from one shaded area to another (e.g., hop like a frog, fly like a bird).
Compare the shade shapes for different objects.
