Taking an Exam with Honorlock
As you complete your exam, your computer’s screen and webcam will be monitored and recorded by a live Honorlock proctor. If you are flagged by the system or a proctor, the live virtual proctor will pop in to assess the situation, make sure there isn’t an academic violation, and help you get back on track with your exam. Honorlock also has an integrity algorithm that can detect search-engine use, so please do not attempt to search for answers, even if it's on a secondary device, like your cell phone or iPad.
Honorlock testing policies are determined by the instructor and communicated in the syllabus. If the instructor does not set any, then the following are standard:
Do not leave the exam environment at any time during the exam, unless specifically allowed in the exam instructions by your instructor.
Do not talk or communicate by any other means during the exam.
The environment must be quiet and fully lit.
You must be seated at a clean desk or clean table.
The exam must be taken in the same room that is scanned during the room scan.
The desk or table must be cleared of all materials not required for the exam unless specifically allowed in exam instructions.
Internet-capable devices such as a cell phone, e-reader, smartwatch, or internet-cable calculator must not be visible on the desk, table or testing area.
The camera must be focused on the test taker at all times.
No one other than the test-taker is permitted to enter the testing area during the exam.
Upon completion of the exam, once you click Submit Honorlock will close and you will no longer be recorded or monitored.
