Learn About Lauren!

Hello! I am 20-year old female pursuing a BS in Sociology with a minor in criminal justice. I am originally born and raised in Stillwater, Minnesota but currently reside in Twentynine Palms, California. I spent the first two years of my undergrad at the University of Minnesota studying computer science before I transferred to ASU. 

Living on a Marine Corps base as a Marine spouse I am inspired by the strong sense of community around me and the unique experiences that come with it. I absolutely love getting to know my friends and neighbors from other states and countries. I enjoy participating in community events, from potlucks to holiday celebrations where we come together to support each other and share our stories. One of my favorite aspects of living in Southern California is the incredible Mexican food, especially fish tacos! It’s a treat to explore local restaurants with friends and indulge in the delicious food that this region has to offer.

I also have a passion for writing and was honored to receive the First-Year Writing Award for a personal narrative essay. In my free time, I love staying active by lifting and coaching youth soccer and high school lacrosse. Some things I enjoy are: getting ice cream with my husband, playing with our sweet pets, and having movie nights with friends! 

A fun fact about me is we have two german shepherds at home, Badger and Naomi!
