Lesson 2
Welcome to Lesson 2:
Planning and Recording Your Podcast!
Planning and Recording Your Podcast!
This lesson will cover the basics of podcast production. During this lesson, you will work on converting a segment of one of your lectures into a clear and engaging script, which you will submit for assessment during Module 1. Once your script is created, you will then move on to recording your script in Module 2, where we provide you with a variety of tips and tricks for using the production software Audacity. After you create your initial recording, you will work with your peers to brainstorm edits for each other's audio files through a discussion. Using the edits suggestions you receive from your peers, you will then implement edits using Audacity for your final assessment in Module 3.
The overall learning outcome for this lesson, as well as the instructional objectives that will be covered in the following three modules, are listed at the bottom of this page.
To jumpstart your journey in podcast production, and to give you an idea of what you can expect to learn during this lesson, we have created the following diagram to help you visualize a breakdown of the steps for planning and recording your podcast. Each step will be explored in detail throughout the three modules you will complete during Lesson 2. Feel free to print out this supplement and utilize it as you are preparing to create your podcast, as a reminder of each step.
