Lesly Perez

Hello! My name is Lesly and I am a Chicana artist from Phoenix, Arizona. I earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts in Arizona State University; being a first generation University graduate and the first in my family to pursue the arts academically. As of this time, I work at the Phoenix Art Museum as their School Programs Assistant. 

Using a BIPOC, semi-autobiographical lens, I construct artwork through a personal and experimental means that either celebrates or represents aspects of my culture, identity, and spirituality. My work aims to encourage audiences to be inspired by their own backgrounds and to seek enlightenment for misunderstood concepts. Above all, I hope to continue to educate myself and grow as an artist to succeed in my expectations of myself.
