Welcome to the Writers' Studio!
I am a transfer student at Arizona State University, pursuing a degree in Data Science. I completed the BA degree in Psychology/Religion and the MA in Theology at Stellenbosch, South Africa. I live in Lakeland, Florida, but I was born and raised in South Africa.
I speak Afrikaans, English, and German and can also read and translate Koine and Hellenistic Greek.
I enjoy classical music, playing chess, and swimming in the ocean.
My daughter Rebekka (13) was born in South Africa, and my son, Joshua (9), was born in Alaska. My husband, Marcus, is a software engineer, and we love to travel and experience new places and cultures. We have three pets; a Pomeranian named Teddy, a rescue Beagle from Africa named Honey, and a rescue cat from Florida named Eddie.
Below are some of my achievements, strengths, and goals.
I have worked as a Koine Greek lecturer at Cornerstone College in Cape Town, South Africa, and was also the dean of a Bible School in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
I am a medical interpreter, interpreting the rare language pair Afrikaans/English.
I am highly motivated and show perseverance. While at University in South Africa, I cycled 4000 miles (over 40 days, 100 miles per day) on a bicycle around the outside border of South Africa to raise funds for community development during my summer break.
After finishing my degree in Data Science, I hope to make a difference in the world through careful predictions based on mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
