Who is isabella?

About Isabella;

I am twenty-five years old and l am from Bass Lake, California, but currently I live in the Metropolitan area!

I am majoring in History (with a minor in English) with the hopes of furthering my career in writing. Though, I know I don't have to have a degree to write novels and such, at this point it's just something that I truly want to do! Growing up, I never had the greatest academic role models, so when I had the opportunity to come back to college and finish my degree, there was absolutely nothing that would have stopped me.

When I'm not in school, I am an Author, a digital artist (a customer service representative) and a dog mom!

My first novel was published on Thanksgiving of last year (2022) and I recently, as of the beginning of March, signed a second contract for the publication of my second novel which would be released at some point next year(2024)! While I (not so patiently) wait on updates for my second novel, I am busy writing my third. Which (don't tell the others) may just be my favorite. The third is a modern day re-telling of Medusa and the blind woman and it is so fun to write; the murder mystery of it all, the Sapphic romance, THE GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!! I am absolutely giddy with myself every time I open the document to write.

I've written since I was very young, starting out on Wattpad writing fanfiction, but as I grew older, I decided I only wanted to write queer romances. I think it's important to write about the things that will not only make myself, but others around me feel seen. I want to write about the things that would have made me feel safe as a young adult. Not only in a sense of being queer, but from a prospective of struggling with mental health, abuse and homophobia too. I've learned to use writing as a coping mechanism, which has significantly helped.

I explore the topics of mental health, abuse and homophobia a lot in my writing. They're issues that I don't believe are normalized enough, not in a sense that it should be happening, but in a sense that people should be aware that it is happening and there are options to receive help.
