GirlsConserve is a program that includes immersion camps that allow students to participate in place-based and culturally responsive activities based on One Health inspired curricula. Previously, the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes held GirlsConserve camps in collaboration with the Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology.

Fall Hieroglyphics Trail Field Trip | November 12, 2022
Students participated in a One Health inspired interpretive hike on the Hieroglyphics Trail.
Spring Break | March 13, 2023 - March 17, 2023
Students participated in mindfulness activities, learned more about self-love, and envisioned their future with Environmental Communication and Leadership students at the Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology.
Students were given the opportunity to connect with nature by hiking the Superstition Mountains and sharing their thoughts on environmental issues.
Students explored biodiversity concepts with the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes.
Students visited the Desert Botanical Garden and learned more about plant life and ecosystem services. Students reflected on how they can improve the state of the Sonoran Desert ecosystem.
Students finished the five-day camp with a hike and discussions about environmental justice at the Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology.
