Hello, I'm Emma!
I grew up in Bridgton, Maine but as I've been living in Old Town for four years now, it has become my home. All my life, I've been told I'm "gifted" and a fast learner. I'm someone who picks up hobbies very quickly, pursuing each and every hobby that interests me. Because of this, today, I am a poet, musician, artist, and so much more. Beside my hobbies, I have a passion for kindness. I have done volunteer work for years in search of a sense of community, as I value teamwork in any setting. Despite trying my best to have a positive attitude, there have been many times in my life that I have struggled. Because of these hardships, I believe that mental health awareness is incredibly important. I try my best to advocate for others, online and in person, but also hope to spread awareness about mental health challenges through my work. My perseverance has kept me strong and taught me a lot about who I am and who I want to be. This website is just another attempt to share my life and work with the world.
What Am I Doing Now?
I am currently taking my final graduate course with Arizona State University, and soon will have my Master's degree in English. I work a part time job at a beauty salon, but am actively looking for a job related to my field of study. When I'm not working or studying, I am trying to better myself. This takes many forms—improving my physical health with things like meditation and a healthy diet, improving my mental health by journaling and practicing self-love, and pursuing my hobbies such as crocheting and playing guitar. I am constantly working on myself, even if that needs to be in small amounts at times.
I am also getting outside this summer! I am taking care of my garden, going rollerblading, hiking, camping, and spending time with family.
I look forward to growing more and more every day.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
